Whereas Coldplay at first indicated ennui par excellence, now it makes me insatiable. I want more of that music. I want to stuff my CD changer with the intensity, the sentiment and the style of the broken heart that Chris Martin and his partisans express. That is why I am going to abuse you, following Merel’s example. Will you accept being abused at the end of the day? I certainly hope so, because I need you. As an oracle that is. Will you be my oracle today?
In the past Coldplay always made me think of Radiohead instantly. But I know Radiohead as poorly as I knew Coldplay until recently. I thought Chris Martin and Thom Yorke were trying to find out who could produce the most boring music of the two. But now! Now preacher Martin has converted me halfway. Tell me, could Radiohead do the same to me? Should I follow my Coldplay experience and listen to a Radiohead album after and after again? And if so, tell me which album!
What makes me the most curious is if two and two indeed will turn out to be five in the end.

Wat iedereen zegt, The Bends is toegankelijk en werkelijk geweldig. OK Computer is ook toegankelijk en gaat al een klein beetje richting hun huidige werk en is ook geweldig. Wat ik zou doen, ik OK Computer luisteren (en, inderdaad, een paar keer) en als je daar van onder de indruk bent, Hail to the Thief (nieuwste) gaan luisteren. Niet meteen met Hail beginnen, want dan word je nooit geraakt denk ik. In mijn humbele opinie. Wat je ook kan doen, is aan iemand die groot Radiohead fan is, vragen een CD voor je samen te stellen (bijvoorbeeld aan een aap of een merel of aan beiden hihi). Maar de albums van Radiohead zijn meestal wel zo nauwkeurig samengesteld dat ze een echt geheel vormen.
Leuk he, het publiek misbruiken. Handig ook.
Maar misschien moet je om te beginnen even Paranoid Android downloaden en dat 10x draaien. Nou, doei.
Radiohead cd’s hoor je te ondergaan, in ieder geval de werkjes vanaf OK Computer. OK Computer is best ok, maar haalt het wat intensiteit absoluut niet bij het laatste werkje, Hail To The Thief. Plaat van de eeuw wat mij betreft, misschien dat meneer Yorke ooit nog iets beters kan maken maar van iemand anders verwacht ik dat niet. Wat The Bends betreft: leuke gitaarplaat maar verder...
Maar hoe kun je in godsnaam kneiter Coldplay vergelijken met Radiohead? Of nog erger: met die absolute sufferds van Live of Muse? Woedend ben ik, briesend slinger ik door de kamer!
Maar goed. Ik ben dan ook een Aap. Een verstokte Radiohead-fan Aap. Oei.
Ik zou gewoon nog wat Coldplay materiaal scoren :-)

Dit vind ik nou zo leuk van de weblog, ik kom sinds een paar maanden in aanraking met allerlei onderwerpen die mij tot voor kort volslagen onbekend waren!

Ik heb ze lekker allemaal naast elkaar in de kast staan (+ coldplay en de rest) en er heeft zich hier in huis nog nooit iemand aan gestoord!
Ze maken allemaal muziek! Totaal verschillende muziek! En je kan van al die muziek houden!
